California Coastal Cleanup

This year marks a special milestone—it's the 40th Anniversary of Coastal Cleanup in California! Since its inception, this event has grown into one of the largest volunteer efforts in the state, and we're proud to continue the tradition here in Corte Madera.

The Corte Madera Community Foundation and the Corte Madera Lions, with over a decade of collaboration, are once again joining forces to clean up our beloved shoreline paths and wetlands.

Our efforts are strongly supported by the Department of Public Works, the Town of Corte Madera, and many dedicated friends and neighbors who make this event a success every year.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, September 21st

  • Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

  • Meeting Point: Across from Macy's at the corner of San Clemente and Redwood Hwy

What to Expect: Participants will be provided with a map of the cleanup site, a plastic bucket, and a set of pick-ups. Whether you're joining as part of a group or coming on your own, every bit of effort makes a difference! Please come prepared with the following:

  • Work shoes

  • Gloves (bring your own if possible)

  • A bucket and pick-ups (if you have them)

  • Hat, sunscreen, and water to stay hydrated

After the cleanup, all volunteers are invited to a picnic at the Bay Model in Sausalito. This is a fantastic opportunity to unwind, connect with fellow volunteers, and enjoy some well-deserved refreshments. Kids will have a blast, and we'll be giving away door prizes as a thank-you for your hard work!

This is more than just a cleanup—it's a chance to make a lasting impact on our environment, connect with our community, and take part in a tradition that has made a difference for 40 years.
